Justine is the head of finance and accountant at the National Instructors College Abilonino since 2014. He has been involved in the NUFFIC OKP project since 2018 and accounting for all expenses in the project from the Ugandan side.

“The collaboration between Hanze and NICA has been really good. Next to the NUFFIC OKP Project, we also received a donation from the Hanze University Foundation. With a group of 18 Hanze staff members, they have renovated one of the dormitories which is why the Hanze will always be part of NICA. We named that particular dormitory the “Hanze-House” The OKP project is a good project. Our government may not have money, but we received funding from the OKP project to keep going during difficult times, like for example during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

“The focus in the project has been on agriculture/entrepreneurship and the agriculture has benefitted so much, that in future projects we hope to focus on other departments and fill the gap. The agricultural department has a great demo-farm and student plots where students can grow vegetables and sell them to our school canteen.”

“I also participated in some trainings. For example the rabbit training but also how to take videos and photos. Once I retire, I will start my own rabbit farm and add on to my retirement.”
