Green Hydra: involving SMEs in hydrogen economy
- Research project
The goal of Green Hydra is to involve the Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the green hydrogen economy. We therefore must develop policy and initiatives on local, regional and national scale. From research programmes to development strategies, awareness programmes and pilot investments specifically aimed at the involvement of SMEs in the entire hydrogen value chain.
Green hydrogen will become a crucial factor to reach the EU-climate goals to reduce the emissions of greenhouse gasses until 2030 with a minimum of 55% and to reach zero emissions by 2050. The involvement of the SMEs, which contains 99% of all companies in Europe, is essential for the expansion of hydrogen. Investments into research, pilots and infrastructure are necessary. Governments and companies have to keep improving policy and support to involve the SMEs.
Together with ten other European partners, Hanze, through its Centre of Expertise Entrance, is acting as an Advisory Partner to help bring the hydrogen ecosystem in these countries to the next level. Hanze will support the entire learning process and events over the next four years.
Green Hydra is a project of Interreg Europe
