The Crashcourse C&M is meant for candidates who wish to prepare themselves doing the general theoretical part (theory and ear training) of the entrance exam Composition & Music Production or Jazz of the Prince Claus Conservatoire. At the end of the course they can, if they wish to do so, take part in a theory practice exam.
Contents of the course
The course material includes theoretical aspects of: music notation, key and key signatures, rhythm, intervals, scales, chords and chord symbols and the harmonic analysis of jazz standards. Apart from that, ear training is given in the domain of scales, intervals, chords, chord progressions, melody and rhythm. At the end of the Crash course, participants can take part in a practice exam.
