As a songwriter, you write your own songs which you might even perform or produce yourself but which can also be performed or produced by others. The main subject Songwriting focuses mainly on 'the song'.

In the second year, you will learn what songs are made up of, because you deepen your knowledge about various songwriting traditions in pop music. For example, we look at influencial songwriters from the sixties (Beatles, Beach Boys), where melody and harmony are important. We will also focus on the songwriting tradition of the Great American Songbook, alongside more recent genres where rhythm and sound play an important role.

Furtherone during the study we will focus more on your own personality as a songwriter. When you graduate with the main subject songwriting, you will be able to write, arrange and produce songs for many different performers in diverse styles.
