Crashcourse Jazz

The Crash course is meant for candidates who wish to prepare themselves directed to doing the general theoretical part (theory and ear training) of the entrance exam C&M or Jazz of the Prince Claus Conservatoire. At the end of the course they can, if they want to, take part in the theory testing exam.

Contents of the course

The course material includes theoretical aspects of: music notation, key and key signatures, rhythm, intervals, scales, chords and chord symbols and the harmonic analysis of jazz standards. Apart from that, ear training is given in the domain of scales, intervals, chords, chord progressions, melody and rhythm. At the end the participants of the Crash course can take part in the testing exam at the end of the course.

Teacher

Leon Mennen is a teacher in general theoretical subjects of Classical Music and Jazz Music at the Prince Claus Conservatoire.
