How to prepare for the Online Open Day

Our Online Open Day is coming up fast and we hope you’re as excited as we are!

Attending an Online Open Day can be overwhelming – there’s so much to see and discover! To make the most out of your experience, preparation is key. To help you out, we’ve prepared 8 tips to help you prepare for the event.

1.      Don't forget to register!

In order to attend our Online Open Day, the first step you need to take is to sign up!

2.      Prepare your device

We will host our live sessions through an interactive digital platform that runs best on a desktop, using Google Chrome as your browser. So give your phone a well-deserved break and get your laptop ready! In case you would like to install the latest version of Google Chrome, click here.

3.      Personalise your programme

During the Online Open Day, you will be able to explore content and live sessions on studying at Hanze UAS and in Groningen, as well as on our programmes. We highly recommend attending one of the Kick-offs for International Students, taking place at 13:30 hrs, to kickstart your Open Day experience. We recommend you personalise your programme by writing down for yourself which sessions you would like to visit at which times before the start of the event. You can find the timetable on this page approximately two weeks before the event.

4.    Research and think of questions you want to ask

The more research you do prior to the event, the more you can maximise your Online Open Day experience! We would recommend you to download the brochures of your favourite programmes to prepare, and to actively engage in the sessions by asking questions. Need some inspiration? Check out the 'What questions can I ask during an Online Open Day?' tab on this page.

5.      Secure a stable internet connection

Nothing worse than losing your wifi connection right when your favourite session's about to start… Make sure that you have a stable internet connection so you don't miss out on all the fun! Is your connection not that strong? Telling other people using the same wifi to limit their internet access usually already helps a lot!

6.      Prepare your environment

Apart from your computer, an internet connection and a comfy place to sit for a few hours, we would advise you to have the following things at hand:

  • Headphones, so you can fully enjoy the event without distractions
  • Pen and paper, so you can make notes
  • A nice hot cup of coffee or tea, so you can sit back and enjoy the event!

7.      Involve your parents/friends

Making a decision on where to spend years of your life is not one to be made on your own. Your parents, family and friends know you well and probably have an idea of whether a certain programme suits you and whether you could feel at home in a certain city. Therefore, it might be a good idea to ask someone to tag along while you explore the Online Open Day.

8.      Keep an eye on your e-mail for the access link

Time to get going! Prior to the event, you will receive an e-mail from us with the access link to participate in the Online Open Day. Haven't received it by 12:00 hrs? Then send an email to [email protected], so we can give you access.

Enjoy your Online Open Day!
