The mission of the International Business School (IBS) at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen is to prepare business professionals with a global mindset, who are ready to add value to international business and society.

‚ÄčIBS focuses particularly on:

  • The personal development of students and faculty as the key stakeholders of the learning environment, emphasizing social responsibility and ethical behavior within our programmes.
  • State-of-the-art curricula and pedagogy emphasizing problem-solving and teamwork in business education.
  • An international environment that is represented by a diverse student population and faculty composition, and reflected in the international nature of the curriculum and our key partners.
  • The faculty's creation and dissemination of the results of applied research in the light of new economic and business realities, to serve our region and communities beyond.

The four subaspects of the IBS mission include:

To realise these values, IBS has chosen to concentrate on the following areas of strategic focus: Instructional ExcellenceProfessional and Personal DevelopmentIntercultural Immersion, and Applied Research. These IBS-specific values and strategies are purposefully in line with those of the larger institution of Hanze UAS.
