Dr. Martijn Boven teaches philosophy, aesthetics and theory of art at the Minerva Art Academy, Leiden University, and Radboud University, Nijmegen. He has a background in the history of philosophy as well as in comparative literature. He combined these interests in his PhD thesis Metaphor and Metamorphosis: Paul Ricoeur and Gilles Deleuze on the Emergence of Novelty. Most of his research focuses on the interrelationship between the manner in which philosophical ideas are articulated (forms of expression), what they aim to express (forms of content), and the existential concerns that underlie these forms of expression.
