Global Health (Engelstalig)

Cancellation short programme Global Health, Semester 1 (September – January)

Due to governmental measures being taken in a lot of countries including the Netherlands, and borders being closed to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19),  we've already received various cancellations from students who applied for our short programme. This leaves us to believe that it is better to cancel the short programme Global Health in semester 1 (September – January).
You can still sign up for de short programme in semester 2 (February – July). Hope to see you soon.

Introduction

Quantified Self concentrates on the increasing, worldwide development of technical applications to support self-monitoring by individuals. This promotes self-knowledge and allows analysis of personal health information about aspects such as a client's nutritional intake or sleep patterns. Wearable technology such as activity trackers, smartphones and smartwatches generate this information. You will explore a number of state of the art self-quantification technologies, as well as learn about the significance of these digital (health) developments for health and social care professionals.

Programme

The short programme Global Health (30 ECTS) is an international (exchange) education programme that offers you the unique opportunity to familiarize yourself with the increasingly globalized world, digitalisation and its effects on health. The programme focuses on trends in digital health and health care viewed from a global perspective and the challenges that we, as health professionals, face over the next 10 years. How do these developments relate to the desire to live longer while remaining healthy and active while we age? How can we cooperate on an international level to organize prevention and self-management? How do we implement digital health solutions to encourage healthy behaviour but also deliver effective and efficient health care in a way that everybody receives the care he or she needs?
