Marjolein Uitham is lecturer-researcher at the professorship Image in Context of the Research Centre Art & Society at Hanze University of Applied Sciences.
Marjolein studied Illustration at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague and obtained her Master of Education in Arts in 2013 after completing the joint degree programme Arts Education at Hanze University of Applied Sciences and NHL in Groningen.
She recently started as lecturer-researcher at the professorship Image in Context of the Research Centre Art & Society, specialising in Art & Care. Her work focuses on the role of art in communication and healthcare issues. Marjolein mainly investigates how artistic skills, such as drawing, can contribute to effective communication in various settings.
As a committed expert by experience, she is interested in interpersonal relationships and continuously seeks ways to allow these connections to flourish. Her aim is to find new ways in which art can have a positive impact on communication and interaction in healthcare.
