Results and outlook from the Dutch-German cooperation project MyCaDO.

How is the way we work and learn changing in the maritime sector? And what skills do maritime professionals need now and in the future? On Tuesday 6 October 2026, we will present the results of three years of research, development and practical implementation within the cross-border project MyCaDO (My Career Development Online). During this morning, we will focus on career development, learning and working in the maritime sector. Together with our project partners, we will share the key findings from the project and discuss the opportunities that digitalisation and new approaches to learning and development can offer for the future.

What can you expect?

During the event, we will explore questions such as:

  • What opportunities does a digital platform offer to effectively communicate company requirements to employees?
  • How can technology transform the development and delivery of training and education?
  • What opportunities can hybrid approaches create for impactful talent development and lifelong learning?
  • Which skills are perceived to be important – now and in the future?

In addition to the results of MyCaDO, there will be plenty of opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas with other professionals from the maritime sector, education and industry.

Who is it for?

The event is relevant to professionals working on career development, learning and development, training, human capital and the future of work in the maritime sector. The programme brings together different perspectives and offers an opportunity to exchange knowledge, experiences and ideas about the development of maritime professionals.

About MyCaDO

MyCaDO stands for My Career Development Online. As part of this cross-border Dutch-German project, companies and knowledge institutions are working together to develop a digital learning environment for maritime professionals. The project focuses on skills development, career development and lifelong learning in the maritime sector. During the Closing Event, the key results will be shared and the next steps for these themes will be discussed.
