Hanze receives positive quality assurance assessment
- News
The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) has positively assessed the Institutional Audit Quality Assurance (ITK) of the Hanze. Today, NVAO chairman Arnold Jonk presented the certificate to the Executive Board during the inspiration day for employees.
"During a process like this, you really get to see the differences between institutions. The panel found it striking that pride in Hanze is so deeply ingrained. What struck me personally is how well-supported student participation and student support are at Hanze, and just how important they are. That really sets it apart from other institutions," Arnold Jonk said at the ITK presentation.
In the autumn of 2025, Hanze participated in the Institutional Audit Quality Assurance (ITK), a periodic, external and independent assessment of how an institution monitors its educational quality. It is an assessment at institutional level and is therefore not an assessment of individual programmes. In doing so, the panel looks at both the quality assurance system and the quality culture. The ITK takes place every six years and this was the third round. With this positive result, our ITK recognition has been extended until 8 May 2032.
Annemarie Hannink, member of the Executive Board: "The positive assessment by NVAO confirms that our quality assurance and quality culture is rock solid. We are proud of that. At the same time, the panel's recommendations give us specific starting points to further strengthen our organisation and the quality of our education in the coming years."
