The Research Centre for Built Environment NoorderRuimte conducts practice-based research on the built environment in the Northern Netherlands. In doing so, we focus on four themes: Earthquakes, Sustainability, Health & Wellbeing, and Liveability. We share our curiosity and passion for an improved design of the built environment for people.
Within NoorderRuimte, professors of applied sciences, (teacher) researchers, students, and professionals from the field work together on current, practice-based research questions.
In 2025, the Research Centre for Built Environment NoorderRuimte received the 'excellent' designation for the second time in a row during the assessment.
