Dr. Lies Korevaar

Since June 2003, dr. Lies Korevaar has been affiliated with the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen as a professor of Rehabilitation. He obtained his PhD for research into a Supported Education programme for people with psychiatric problems. He is the coordinator of the Innovation Workshop (IWP) Experiential Expertise Northern Netherlands and of the IWP Supported Learning. Until 2003 he worked as a (policy) psychologist at the Bavo RNO Group (now Parnassia), an organisation for mental health care in Rotterdam. From January 2009 to April 2015 he was also director/chief trainer at the Rehabilitation '92 foundation in Woerden and from 2009 to 2017 project leader of the Werkplaats Sociale Domein Noord. As author and co-author Korevaar has published more than 40 articles, three handbooks (Rehabilitation Handbook, Working on Social Participation & Supported Education for students with mental health problems), a Supported Education Toolkit (translated into six languages), some thirty chapters in books and various training modules. In 2019 he was elected lecturer of the year in the field of student welfare.
