Zohre Kurt

Zohre is professor of Life Sciences & Renewable Energy, affiliated to Entrance - Centre of Expertise Energy at the Hanze.

As professor in Life Sciences & Renewable Energy, Zohre leads innovative research projects into the production of renewable molecules using chemical and biological processes. Developing an engaging curriculum and providing mentorship to students/researchers are important to her. She also tries to foster strong interdisciplinary collaborations within the university and with external partners to encourage impactful research focused on sustainability. Zohre is attracted to the Hanze because of its strong commitment to sustainability and applied research. This aligns perfectly with her professional values. The Hanze's infrastructure and state-of-the-art facilities make it an ideal environment for advancing bioenergy technologies and teaching excellence.

Zohre Kurt is professor Life Sciences & Renewable Energy at Entrance (Hanze). She has extensive experience in teaching and research in chemical process technologies. She received her PhD from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta (US). She worked as a researcher at Florida State University in Panama City (Florida, USA) and as an assistant professor at Middle East Technical University in Ankara (Turkey). She has also worked as a consultant for companies in industry. In 2022, she was appointed associate professor.
