Dr Imogen Humphris

Imogen Humphris is a social scientist and artistic researcher at the Research Centre Art & Society with special focus on communities living with/in marginalised and liminal landscapes.

Her doctoral research addressed everyday human and more-than-human placemaking on vacant land in Glasgow, Scotland. Artistic practice is an integral part of her applied anthropological research approach; she works in collaboration with artistic partners to open up participatory dialogues in communities about the relationships that bind them to the landscapes that they live and work in.

Her work translates theoretical and ethnographic research into new perspectives on landscape management and governance where the power of everyday tactics and collective action reconfigure policymaking.
