On this page you can find information about parking at the various locations of Hanze in Groningen.

​Parking at Zernike Campus

Visitors can park their car in the parking spaces behind Zernikeplein 7 and 11 (P3) and in the parking lot behind Zernikeplein 17 and Zernikeplein 23 (P4). If there is no availability at P3 and P4, Hanze employees, students as well as visitors are requested to move to P6 and P+R Reitdiep.

• There is room for 300 cars at P+R Reitdiep and there are more than enough places available here every day. From P+R Reitdiep, buses run every 5 minutes (during rush hour) and every 8 minutes (outside rush hour) to take you to the bus stop next to Zernikeplein 11.
• Tip: On the ‘Groningen Bereikbaar’-website you will find a smart map that lists all current roadworks and P&R locations.

Paid parking at P3 and P4

• Monday to Thursday: 7:30 to 19:00 (on Friday from 7:30 until 18:00)
• Parking costs €2 per hour (or hour that has already commenced), with a maximum fee of 10 euros a day.
• Parking costs can be paid using a QR code at one of service desks.

Free access to the closed car parks for outside visitors. Hanze students can park for free at P3 or P4, provided that parking spaces are available. These parking spaces must be reserved in advance by Hanze Front Office or support staff. 

Registering visitors

Hanze visitors can be registered in advance for parking at P3 and P4. Registrations can be made at least 24 hours in advance by Front Office or support staff via the Formdesk form provided for this purpose. The visitors then report to the barrier where their parking reservation has been made and confirm their arrival via the intercom. They can also sign out here, so they do not need an exit ticket to leave the car park. Note: If you park the car on the roadside, you risk a hefty fine. This also applies to parking at other companies on campus.

If available, students of Hanze Professionals can park for free at P3 or P4.

Disabled parking spaces

• Disabled parking spaces are available on Zernike Campus. The number of available spaces can vary per day. When booking for external visitors, Front Office or support staff should indicate when a disabled parking space is required.
• Students who are eligible and would like to make use of a disabled parking space can indicate this to the Student Counsellor.
• Employees without a parking permit can send Parking Exceptions an email ([email protected]) to request an exception for the use of the disabled parking spaces.

Parking at Wiebenga

The Wiebenga location (Academy for Health Studies and Academy of Nursing) and the Dental Hygiene programme (UMCG) are located in a paid parking environment and do not have their own car park.

Wiebenga: you can park your car in the Circus parking garage on the Korreweg (under the Jumbo Supermarket) or in the neighbourhood. Please note: paid parking applies in the district. Parking garage Circus is about a 5-minute walk from the Wiebenga location.

Dental Hygiene: follow the signs 'P UMCG Noord' for the nearest parking garage.

Parking at Minerva Art Academy

Minerva Art Academy is located in the city centre of Groningen. To visit the Academy, you can park on the Praediniussingel or on the Pottebakkersrijge (note: paid parking applies here). Another option is to park in the Westerhaven parking garage. This is less than a 5-minute walk from Minerva Art Academy.

Parking at the Prins Claus Conservatorium

The Prins Claus Conservatorium is located in a paid parking environment. You can park your car in the Oosterpoort parking garage (Trompsingel) or in the neighborhood. Please note: paid parking applies in the district. The Oosterpoort parking garage is about a 5-minute walk from the Conservatoire.
