Welcome to the Finance theme – where money matters aren't boring, but powerful. Whether you want to launch a startup, run a non-profit, or work at an established company - understanding how money flows helps you make smart decisions and create real impact.

What will you learn?

In this theme you will dive into the world of financial management. Sounds serious – and it is – but we keep it practical, clear, and most of all: relevant to you.

You will learn things like:

  • How to tell a financial story using numbers.
You’ll work with tools like income statements (how much profit or loss you make), balance sheets (what you own and owe), and cash flow overviews (how much money you have to pay your bills). These are the basics every entrepreneur or manager should grasp.
  • How to support a business plan with money.
Got a business idea? Then you need to be able to show if it is financially doable. You will learn how to estimate what you will earn, what it will cost, and whether you've got enough money to start and keep going.
  • How to check the financial health of an organisation.
You will analyse real-life business at actual companies. Is there profit, but no cash? Are debts piling up? You will learn how to recognise the signals and give solid advice.
  • How to record financial transactions.
From buying a laptop to paying salaries – everything involving money needs to be recorded properly. You will learn how this works, and how it affects profit and cash flow.

Why is this important?

Money is the oxygen of any organisation. Even the best idea won’t survive without it. With this financial lens, you will gain control over money, and that gives you the freedom to grow, innovate and take smart risks.

Skills you will develop

  • Financial thinking (even when you’re not a ‘numbers person’)

  • Analysing and interpreting financial data
  • Strategic planning with money as a tool
  • Communicate about money matters with colleagues, investors or customers
