The climate is changing, and this has consequences for the urban environment. Heavier rainfall causes flooding, higher temperatures can lead to heat stress, and longer dry periods cause damage to our infrastructure and agriculture. At the professorship of Climate Adaptation, we work hard to make our living environment more sustainable.
Using tools such as full-scale testing and climate cafés, we analyse problems and solutions for our changing urban climate and design innovative measures. We study the cost-effectiveness of these measures and optimise them together with our stakeholders. The research results are shared internationally through open-source knowledge exchange platforms such as Climatescan. We work closely with various (inter)national universities and universities of applied sciences, as well as partners from the private and public sectors.
ClimateCafé
Every Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 PM, we host the online Climate Café. This is the perfect place for (young) professionals to learn about green-blue climate solutions.
