Wim Elving is professor in Sustainable Communication. He runs the professorship Communication, Behaviour & the Sustainable Society, together with Carina Wiekens. Wim Elving focuses mainly on sustainable communication.
Wim Elving conducts research into communication interventions that help to ca sustainable society. He was trained as a social and organisational psychologist and obtained his PhD with a thesis on healthcare. He has conducted research on internal communication (and organisational change) and on external communication, such as corporate branding, social media, Corporate Social Responsibility and Employer Branding at the University of Amsterdam (Communication Sciences) and the Amsterdam School of Communications Research.

Professorship Communication, Behaviour & the Sustainable Society
Wim Elving was installed as professor Sustainable Communication on 24 January 2019 and together with fellow professor Carina Wiekens, he runs the professorship Communication, Behaviour & the Sustainable Society, which is part of Entrance – Centre of Expertise Energy. This professorship contributes to the creation of a sustainable society through applied research into communication and behavioural interventions. Wim Elving focuses on sustainable communication and Carina Wiekens focuses on sustainable behaviour.
