During your first year of study, you have the great opportunity to learn a second language at IB. Language and culture are closely connected, so learning a new language improves your intercultural competences, thus making you a global citizen. Having learnt a second langauge is also a great help during your placement and study abroad semester.

Students with a non-Dutch diploma will follow a compulsory 5-credit Dutch Language & Culture course. This module provides you with valuable language skills that enrich both your studies and daily life in the Netherlands.

Students with a Dutch diploma can choose one of the following languages: Mandarin Chinese, German, French or Spanish.
