During your first year of study, you have the great opportunity to learn a second language at IB. Learning a new language is about more than communication; it is also a gateway to understanding different cultures. As you develop your language skills, you build intercultural awareness and gain the confidence to connect with people from around the world. Moreover, it is also a great help during your placement and study abroad semester.

Students with a non-Dutch diploma will follow a compulsory 5-credit Dutch Language & Culture course. This module provides you with valuable language skills that enrich both your studies and daily life in the Netherlands.

Students with a Dutch diploma can choose one of the following languages: Mandarin Chinese, German, French or Spanish.
