Teamwork Takes the Helm: Wagenborg Mania

Wagenborg Mania is a local co-op game where players jump into the world of Royal Wagenborg, taking on challenges across four of the company’s divisions. Together, players load cargo, tow vessels, deploy offshore workers, and build cutting-edge ships, all while racing to become Employees of the Month.

The project began in November 2023 as a client assignment for Royal Wagenborg, designed to showcase what the company does in an engaging and memorable way. The goal was to create a fun experience that could draw attention at job fairs and events, where visitors have only a few minutes to interact.

Thanks to positive feedback from lecturers and the client, the assignment quickly evolved into something much bigger. The team continued developing the game during a paid internship at Wagenborg, eventually becoming official employees after the internship ended.

With its fast-paced, cooperative gameplay, Wagenborg Mania is built to entertain and inform, leaving players smiling as they discover what Wagenborg is all about. Development is ongoing, with a planned Steam release in October 2025.
