How can art contribute to climate justice? And how can artistic research open up new ways of understanding just transitions of landscapes that are under pressure through climate change? JUST ART: Creating Common Grounds for Climate Justice Through Artistic Research is a six year project funded by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) and led by the University of Groningen. Bringing together artists, researchers, campaigners and communities in rural and urban regions, from Aruba to the Wadden Islands, the project aims to cultivate diverse strategies of climate justice through artistic research and creative practice.

The project is structured around five core research themes. Ruby de Vos, senior researcher at Hanze University of Applied Sciences, will collaborate with Salys Sultan (University of Aruba) leading the research theme Just Transitions: Hydro-Social Relations in Islands, Coasts and Peatlands
