AI Learning Community for the Healthcare Sector

The ambition of the Learning Community is to improve care for patients and making the care process more efficient while keeping the costs down through the use of AI. The goal is to make future and current healthcare professionals in the Northern Netherlands AI-ready.

The focus in this project is on the development of a learning community which specifically aims to educate staff on AI and facilitate AI acceptance by its users. The learning community will be multidisciplinary in nature, whereby partners from the whole chain will collaborate and learn from real-life situations, straight from the care sector.

In the short term, the learning community contributes to preparing future healthcare professionals for AI through practice-oriented training sessions and learning-modules. This is done by offering these services to employees of care institutions, small to medium-large businesses and hospitals. In the long term, this project facilitates a broader acceptance of AI-technology in the healthcare system.

The knowledge gained from and spread by the learning community will automatically find its way to practice. The learning community consists out of a combination of knowledge institutions, work field-partners, and additional collaborative partners whom, together, represent the majority of relevant parties within the Northern Netherlands. The partners from the work field have technologies that touch a wide variety of real-life issues. Furthermore, the learning community collaborates with de AI-hub Noord Nederland and the ELSA AI lab in the Northern Netherlands.
