My life here has been amazing. If you find yourself longing for a city full of students, vibrancy, and youth, I’d recommend looking into Groningen. Though I was a master student and a bit “older” than the typical bachelor student, I met amazing people and have made friendships that will last a lifetime 💫
During my time here, I’ve experienced so much—from skydiving and renting boats to exploring Schiermonnikoog (the nearby island), getting out in nature, attending concerts, and even comedy nights. Groningen truly has something for everyone, no matter your interests 🪂
Before determining my study destination, I attended webinars from Hanze. They ultimately helped confirm my decision and gave me helpful insights to feel confident and secure. If you’re considering Hanze and are curious about student life in Groningen, I’d highly recommend to visit these webinars to get a sense of what to expect and ask questions 🧑💻
Looking back, I wish I had known just how freeing moving to the Netherlands would be. It turned out to be such an eye opening, empowering decision, that solidified my independence and has made me a much stronger person. It has helped me find myself & and has opened my eyes to different cultures, new dreams, and new passions. If you’re thinking about taking the leap, do it! Embrace the change, find beauty in the discomfort, and discover just how strong and capable you really are. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat 🧡
