International Communication is the right programme for those who enjoy communication, marketing and PR, but also want space for creativity, teamwork and discovering new cultures.

The CMGT course is really beginner friendly, but also Groningen itself is a comfortable experience for international students like me.

Some parts of communication and intercultural communication theory were already familiar to me. However, the master goes more into depth, and you go through more theory at a quicker pace.

CMGT showed me such a broad perspective on everything I can do in the future, while not forcing me to stick to one unique discipline. I can decide if I want to specialize in programming, art, design, or any combination.

I enjoy CMGT because it is not just about making games for entertainment purposes, but also gives you the chance to make a difference with the games you create.

International Communication has interculturality as a main focus throughout its four years. This allows you to learn how to work in a global field, and how to work with and understand people from another culture.

I do this. for example, by writing seo texts, monitoring keywords, link building and coming up with more new and creative ideas to increase the organic traffic.

It was not easy getting a job after graduation. Therefore, I came up with a strategy of applying to companies mainly as an intern to enable me to showcase my skills obtained from the MIC.

Once I graduated I felt a strong need to experience as much as I could in the communication field. I wanted to understand what the right work position for my personality was, the right company for my work ethic and the right environment for my values.
